Take Back Red California Voting System Alert
|
Setback for Honest California Elections:
Join Us in Repairing Our Voting System
Dear Friend,
As a member of the Take Back Red California movement, were you worried about the certification of Diebold electronic voting machines for California 2006 elections? You've probably heard about their insecure, private software systems that put a cloud over the Ohio 2004 Presidential election. What if TBRC gets support for Democratic candidates but our voting system is corrupted?
We at the Open Voting Consortium see this as a major sign that Secretary of State Bruce McPherson is not ready to bring about needed election reform. It is time for we the people to clean up the American voting system starting in California.
How will we do it? By implementing the widely recognized Open Voting Solution that includes:
• Publicly owned open source software for voting machines and election tabulation
• Paper ballots for every vote with a bar code that is scanned to record your vote
• Ballots stored securely in case a recount is needed
• Accessibility for disabled and sight impaired people
OVC has a team of some of the most capable computer scientists, who have analyzed every step in the election process and they are ready to program needed solutions right now. Can you help us raise $1.5 million to cover the cost of programming and certification of an open source voting system?
OVC plans to have Open Voting working in at least California by 2008. The publicly owned voting machine and election software paid for in California will also be available to all other States, helping to solve the national election crisis!
Please donate if you can to help us solve the election system crisis. OVC plans to have Open Voting working in at least California by 2008, but the publicly owned voting machine and election software paid for here will also be available for use in all other States!
Forward this email to friends who might want to support action to restore faith and trust in American elections.
Warm regards,
Alan Dechert
